Park La Brea area is part of the bike course.  Out of the transition area at Venice Beach, athletes will begin the bike course on Venice Blvd and travel for seven miles to Fairfax Ave. After riding up the Fairfax District, bikers will turn onto Olympic Blvd. just past the eighth mile for a scenic tour of Koreatown. Athletes will continue on this mix of residential and commercial areas for approximately six miles. Athletes will turn around at the Cherry & Olympic intersection to head west for a second lap on Olympic Blvd. (No street crossings on Olympic due to double loop.) The second lap takes competitors back on Olympic Blvd for just over five miles, where they will turn around at Olympic & Alandele. After this turnaround, Olympic athletes will continue back eastward on Olympic Blvd. and turn left on Figueroa and right on 9th and into Transition 2 at Flower, between 9th and 11th.

Best Spots to Watch the Race:

Venice Beach Swim Start. At the end of Venice Blvd. at the beach. It is the perfect location to watch all the opening ceremonies, wave starts, the pros, and T1.  Watch competitors shed their wetsuits, clip in their bike shoes, jump on their bikes and ride up Venice Blvd. toward downtown.
LA LIVE! The finish line for the LA Triathlon. Lots of activity with the finish, entertainment, food and expo vendors. Easy to get to from the start. Just head East on the 10 freeway and off at Grand Avenue.
Transition Area #2. The hotbed of activity will be on Flower between 9th and 11th in downtown L.A. This transition area will house both the age group and pro transitions. Activity and excitement all day long and often where the race is won and lost. Watch competitors rack their bikes, change to running shoes and take off on the final leg
Olympic run course. Witness athletes starting and finishing their run from this location with T2 adjacent. Olympic Blvd. Pick a spot, watch the cyclists on our closed course as they head toward downtown as both Olympic and Sprint Courses turn and merge at this location.
Disney Concert Hall (Grand and 1st Street). At the high point of the bike course nearing the big downhill into T2. Also, the turn around on the Olympic and Sprint run course. It overlooks a beautiful Frank Gehry design and home of one of the city’s finest restaurants, Patina. Walk over to the beautiful new Cathedral or Museum of Contemporary Art just a block away.
Rent a helicopter or a blimp. The Hollywood way to see the race, rent one or bring your own. See the entire swim, bike and run sections from above. The best way to see all the action.
