Fatal traffic Collision on PCH NR11436cj

Los Angeles:  LAPD West Traffic detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information about a traffic collision that left one man dead and one man severely injured on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH).

On September 18, 2011, at approximately 1:25 a.m., LAPD West Traffic Division officers responded to a traffic collision call that occurred on PCH north of Sunset Boulevard.  When the officers arrived they saw two men on the ground lying near a car that collided with a pole. LAFD rescue personnel responded and transported one man to a hospital in Westwood with severe injuries. The other was pronounced dead at the scene.

The detective’s investigation revealed the driver, a 24-year-old male and the passenger, identified as 23-year-old Glendora Resident Basil Max Price II, were in a 1999 Ferrari 350M, driving southbound Pacific Coast Highway at a high rate of speed. The car veered off the road and collided with a pole. The force of the impact caused both the driver and Price to be ejected from the car.  It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor in this collision.
