Los Angeles: A man who was driving while under the influence of alcohol caused the death of two passengers and minor injuries to a third passenger.
On October 8, 2011, at around 1:20 a.m., a man driving a white GMC 4X4 with an extended cab, lost control of the truck while traveling eastbound at Wilshire Boulevard at Park View Street.
During the investigation, detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division learned that the vehicle collided with a cement wall. One passenger was killed after being ejected from the truck and another passenger was killed inside the vehicle. A third passenger who was wearing his seatbelt survived the collision with minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old, David Young Lee from Garden Grove was booked on Penal Code Section 187, Murder. The victims, 28-year-old Ioane Lui Nuumau II, 24-year-old Ryan Faiga Tauiliili and the 23-year-old man who survived the crash, were also from Garden Grove, California.
