Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Hollenbeck Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect who killed 23-year-old Michael Rodriguez.
On July 20, 2012, around 8:15 a.m., Hollenbeck officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 500 block of North Mission Road. When officers arrived, they found Rodriguez and a 52-year-old female lying on the sidewalk.
Rodriguez had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The female had a single gunshot and was transported to a local hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were waiting at the bus stop with two companions when the suspects drove up in a vehicle. The passenger suspect exited the car, walked up to the victims and opened fire.
The motive for this homicide is unknown at this time.
