Man and Woman Killed in Traffic Collision NR12453cj

Los Angeles:   An SUV crashed into a parked pickup truck Wednesday morning killing two people and critically injuring two others.

On Wednesday, September 26, 2012, around 10:45 a.m., Valley Traffic Division Officers were called to investigate a traffic collision that occurred near Califa Street and Oso Avenue in Woodland Hills, California.

A man, in his forties, was driving a silver, 1999 Toyota Rav 4 eastbound on Califa Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control, just east of Oso Avenue and crossed into the oncoming direction of traffic.  The vehicle overturned and collided with a white, 2003 Ford F250 pickup truck that was parked westbound on Califa Street.

Both the driver of the Toyota and his front passenger, a female also in her forties, died at the scene.  Two young girls who were also passengers in the Toyota were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. They are in critical condition.

The identities of the victims will not be released until family members have been notified.  The cause of this collision is still under investigation and the public is reminded to drive with caution and obey all speed laws.
