The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Liang Lynshue.
Los Angeles: Los Angeles detectives are investigating a fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man, who was walking on a usually quiet Sylmar street around 1:40 AM, October 5, 2012.
Several neighbors living near Fenton Avenue and Fernmont Street heard a gunshot and called police. A man was lying in the street, yelling he had been shot. Patrol officers responded to the scene where they located the wounded man. He told police that the driver of a gray American-made car, got out of the car, then shot him. The victim described the driver only as Hispanic.
The victim died a short time later after paramedics rushed him to a local hospital. The coroner’s examination will determine the cause of death. The name of the victim will not be released pending notification of family.
