WHY:
California Attorney General Kamala D. Harris, joined by District Attorneys from across the state, will discuss smart and practical efforts to reduce gun violence in the state through enforcement, use of existing laws and prevention efforts. Attorney General Harris also will discuss her office’s Armed and Prohibited Persons System (APPS) program, which takes guns out of the hands of those prohibited from owning them. The Governor recently signed legislation to give $24 million to the APPS program.
