Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) West Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a murder suspect that shot and killed 32-year-old Cory Mayers, a resident of Los Angeles.
On July 1, 2013, around 7:30 p.m., Mayers was standing in front of his friend’s house located in the 2000 block of South Burnside Avenue. A suspect approached Mayers on foot and fired numerous shots. Mayers was hit by gunfire and collapsed in the driveway. Los Angeles Fire Department rescue ambulance responded to the scene and transported Mayers to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
Detectives are investigating a motive for this murder and believe there may have been witnesses to the shooting.
