Why:
To celebrate twenty years of partnership between the Community-Police Advisory Boards (C-PAB) and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The Community-Police Advisory Boards are the foundationof the L APD community policing efforts. It is one of the most important partnerships established in our City and the Los Angeles Police Department truly values the relationship it has with community it serves.

Prior to 1993, there was no official community-police relationship in the City of Los Angeles. Today, there are 21 community policing stations. Each of the 21 stations has an established Community-Police Advisory Board which is comprised of many volunteers who live and work in the neighborhoods they represent.

Over those 20 years, the C-PAB relationship has evolved into an important public safety component. On a daily basis, C-PAB’s throughout the City not only assist our Department in bringing awareness to our neighborhoods, but also play a critical role in problem-solving crimes and quality-of-life issues. This partnership has given all communities within the City a major voice and platform in police matters.
