Hollywood: Hollywood Division Burglary Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect they believe to be responsible for a rash of burglaries in the southeast area of Hollywood.
On January 31, 2014, around 9:30 a.m., the suspect knocked on the door of an apartment in the 5500 block of Barton Avenue. The victim did not answer the door. The suspect walked to the rear of the building and pried the victim’s bedroom window and screen with a screwdriver. The victim heard the suspect at his bedroom window and saw him reaching into his room. The suspect saw the victim looking at him and left the location on foot.
The suspect is described as a 20 to 28-year-old male White or Hispanic, stands 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 160 to 180 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black jacket over a blue tee-shirt with blue jeans and white tennis shoes. According to a witness the suspect appears clean cut and speaks English with no accent.
Investigators believe the suspect is responsible for other burglaries in the area.
