Los Angeles: On, Monday, March 3, 2014, around 9:10 a.m., LAPD 77th Division Area patrol officers responded to a radio call for “Found Children” investigation in the area of Manchester Avenue and Stanford Avenue.
During the investigation officers were met by a Good Samaritan who saw the boys, ages 2 and 3 wandering the streets alone. The Good Samaritan quickly grabbed the 2-year-old before he had a chance to walk into traffic, while a second Good Samaritan followed the 3-year-old to a nearby apartment. According to the investigators the apartment was found to be in deplorable living conditions. At the time of the investigation officers were unable to locate the children’s mother, later identified as Sidnicka Wilson. The children were taken into protective custody and transported to 77th Station. The children were later released to the custody of Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
On Wednesday, March 05, 2014, around 1:30 p.m., a citizen flagged down Southwest Division officers in the area of Western Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard. The citizen directed officers to Ms. Wilson. Ms. Wilson was positively identified by the officers and taken into custody.
Sidnicka Wilson was arrested and booked for 273a(a) PC,-Child Abuse. Wilson is being held in lieu of $100, 000 bail. The children will remain in the custody of DCFS, the investigation is ongoing.
