UPDATE

Press Conference has been cancelled for today. It will be rescheduled at a later date.

WHAT: LAPD to unveil a public service campaign in partnership with Clear Channel Outdoor (CCO) aimed at reducing the number of hit-and-run and distracted driver incidents citywide.

WHEN: Tuesday, February 17, 2015 2 p.m.

WHERE:LAPD Police Headquarters (Memorial for Fallen Officers) 100 West 1St Street Los Angeles, CA 90012

WHO:LAPD Commander Horace Frank, Counter Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau LAPD Captain II Ann Young, Central Traffic Division Anne-Marie Johnson, Actress and LAPD Specialist Volunteer Reno Wilson, Actor Layne Lawson, Director of Public Affairs, Southern California Division, Clear Channel Outdoor

WHY:Accidents can be devastating to motorists, pedestrians and cyclists alike, but hit-and-run collisions involving cyclists have increased in Los Angeles County. LAPD would like to make the Los Angeles area a safer place for alternative bicycle transportation by collaborating with CCO.

CCO will donate space on 18 digital billboards and 10 ECO posters throughout the Los Angeles area to provide a high-profile platform for the campaign’s message to local drivers, reminding Angelenos to “Obey the rules of the road.”
