Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification of the suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision that resulted in the death of Manuel Enrique Mendoza-Hernandez a 22-year-old resident of Los Angeles.
On Sunday, June 7, 2015, around 8:25 p.m., Central Traffic Division officers responded to a hit-and-run traffic collision that occurred at the intersection of Slauson Avenue and San Pedro Place. The victim, Mendoza-Hernandez, was riding his bicycle westbound along the sidewalk of Slauson Avenue just east of San Pedro Place. The victim rode his bicycle off the sidewalk and into the path of a vehicle making a right turn from San Pedro Place onto Slauson Avenue. The victim was knocked to the pavement and then run over by the suspect’s vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene eastbound on Slauson Avenue failing to render aid to the victim. There is no suspect description and a possible vehicle may be a Toyota Corolla.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him dead.
