Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Southeast Detectives is asking for the public’s help in locating a mother and toddler son who was kidnapped from South Los Angeles.
On April 4, 2016, at 1:15 p.m., the suspect drove the victim to her residence. The victim’s mother heard a scream, looked outside, and observed the victim exit the suspect’s vehicle. The victim then threw her cell phone and purse on the ground.
The victim was observed running back towards the suspect’s vehicle in an attempt to remove their 18 month old son from the vehicle. The victim’s mother heard the victim scream, “Let me go” as the suspect was seen punching and forcing the victim into the car through the window.
The suspect fled in the vehicle with the victim and the 18 month old son.
Officers used the victim’s cell phone that was left behind to call the suspect. When the suspect answered, the victim was heard screaming and struggling in the background. The officers advised the suspect, they needed to speak to the victim. The suspect placed the call on speaker. When asked if she was okay (three times), the victim finally replied “I’m fine”. The call was terminated. The officers attempted to call back several times and there was no answer.

Suspect has been convicted for domestic violence cases Suspect is on probation for domestic violence The suspect is Luis Avalos, a male, Hispanic, 22 years old, Bald head, brown eyes, stands at 5 feet 6 inches, and weighing 140 pounds, with a tattoo on his left cheek “Sabrina”, Tattoo of red lips on his right neck, tattoo of a Rosary around his neck.
Victim-1, is Sabrina Sanchez, a female Hispanic, 22 Years old, brown hair, brown eyes, standing at 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 115 pounds.
Victim-2, is Ayden Avalos, a male Hispanic, 18 month old. (Child in Common)
The vehicle the suspect was driving is described as a 2006, Chevy Impala, Silver in color with tinted windows, California License plate -7LPF713.
