Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department South Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect involved in a hit and run collision resulting in the death of a 29 year-old male.
On April 21, 2016 around 11:25 p.m., the driver in a 2015 white Kia Optima, license plate 7KTM882, was traveling westbound Slauson Avenue at Ruthelen Street and collided with a pedestrian that was walking southbound in a marked crosswalk. The driver of the Kia Optima stopped momentarily after the collision and then fled the scene without identifying himself or rendering aid to the victim.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The suspect’s vehicle is in police custody but the suspect is still outstanding and the investigation continues.
