Update
A $10,000.00 reward will be given to the community members who
provide information leading to the offender’s identification,
apprehension, and conviction. The investigation is ongoing and
being handled by Rampart Division Detectives.
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart
Division Burglary detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in
identifying a hot prowl burglary suspect.
On August 1, 2016 around 12:20 p.m., the suspect entered an
apartment complex at the 800 block of North Mariposa Street in the
City of Los Angeles. The Suspect entered the victim’s apartment
front door that she left unlocked while she walked over to the
apartment’s laundry room.
The victim returned around five minutes later and when she opened
the door she observed the suspect standing behind the door. The
suspect approached victim, covered her mouth with one of his hands
and pushed her against a wall causing her to fall to the
floor.
The victim began to yell and scream scaring the suspect, causing
him to flee the location. Victim was able to get up and lock the
door behind the suspect.
On August 1, 2016 around 1:50 p.m., the suspect entered the
apartment complex at the 1600 block of Cortez St in the City of Los
Angeles. The suspect entered the victim’s apartment front door that
was left unlocked while the victim was inside her residence.
The victim heard her front door open and heard her dogs barking
aggressively. The victim exited her room and walked towards her
living room and observed the suspect inside her apartment.
The victim asked the suspect “What’s happening?” The suspect
responded “You’re pretty, I want to make you mine!”
The suspect approached her and inserted his hand inside her blouse
and began to fondle her breasts. When the victim attempted to pull
away the suspect pinned the victim against the couch.
The victim’s dogs intervened and attempted to bite the suspect’s
leg causing the suspect to lift his leg off the ground. The victim
used that opportunity to push the suspect away and out of the
apartment.
Video surveillance revealed that it was the same suspect of both
incidents.
The suspect is a male, Black, 25-30 years old, black hair, brown
eyes, approximately 6 feet tall, and weighs around 170-190 pounds.
The suspect was wearing a green olive shirt with a picture of the
Virgin Mary, blue jeans and white shoes.
