WHAT: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division will conduct a “Walk a Cop to School” program event. Officers from Harbor Division have worked in partnership with the staff at George De La Torre Jr. Elementary School. Officers will pick up children at their homes, and walk them to school. Officers will be discussing traffic safety tips and answering questions during their walk to school.

WHY: The program is being established as part of the continuing community outreach to improve traffic safety awareness for children and the community. It also adds to the efforts of the mayor’s 2017 Vision Zero Action Plan.
