Hit and Run Leaves Pedestrian in Serious Condition NR17074aj

Los Angeles: The Los
Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division detectives are
asking for the public’s help in providing any information that
would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved
in a hit and run collision that seriously injured a man.

On March 8, 2017, around 2:15 a.m., a white colored Toyota Prius
was traveling eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway and collided with
a pedestrian who was standing near the intersection of Sunset
Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway. The driver of the vehicle
failed to stop and render aid to the pedestrian as mandated by
law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and
transported the victim to a local hospital in serious
condition.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white 4 door Toyota Prius
with paper plates. The vehicle has front end damage.

The suspect is described as a white male with a beard,
approximately 6 feet tall, and 30-40 years old.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles
Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust
Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members
who provide information leading to the offender’s identification,
apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil
compromise.
