Stabbing Leaves One Dead NR17142ml

Granada Hills: Los Angeles Police Department Operations Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives are investigating a stabbing that leaves one woman dead. On Sunday, May 14, 2017, at about 4:20 a.m., Devonshire Area Patrol Division Police Officers received a Radio Call of an Assault with Deadly Weapon Cutting at 16500 block Bircher Street. The location is a residence that was converted into a Mental Health Care Facility named Aacres Group Home. Upon arrival, officers observed the Suspect in the living room and immediately took her into custody. The caretaker heard noises in one of the rooms and went to investigate. She went to the Victim’s bedroom and saw the Suspect standing next to the Victim’s bed holding a knife. The officers observed the victim lying on the bed suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at scene by Los Angeles Fire Department. A knife was discovered under the bed. Investigation reveals the suspect entered the Victim’s bedroom armed with a knife and stabbed the Victim multiple times. The Victim identity is being withheld until notification of next of kin. The Suspect has been identified as Ravneet Kaur, 18 years old, female, Black, from Elk Grove, California. Kaur was booked for Murder with Bail set for $2,000,000.00.
