Family Transports Shooting Victim to Hospital Who Later Dies NR17205ti

San Fernando: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects responsible for the shooting death of a man. On July 5, 2017, around 1:45 a.m., Mission Area Patrol Officers received a radio call of an, “Assault with a Deadly Weapon Shooting,” in the 14000 block of Fox Street. When officers arrived, they learned the victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and had been transported to a local hospital by family members where he ultimately died from his injuries. Valley Bureau Homicide Detective responded and took over the investigation. The victim later identified as, 35-year-old Joseph Loya was loitering in the street in front of 14000 block of Fox Street when a black or dark colored sedan drove slowly eastbound on Fox Street. A second vehicle, no further description, also driving eastbound, pulled in diagonally, blocking the victim’s western escape route. The rear passenger of the black sedan, exited the vehicle and fired at the victim striking him numerous times. The suspect reentered the black sedan and both cars fled the scene.
