Hit and Run Leaves a Pedestrian Dead NR17252im

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved in a hit and run collision that killed a female adult pedestrian.

On August 30, 2017, around 8:25 p.m., a fatal hit and run collision occurred on Wilshire Boulevard and Federal Avenue. The investigation revealed that the suspect’s vehicle was traveling eastbound on Wilshire Boulevard and the pedestrian was crossing on the marked crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle struck the pedestrian and fled the scene without identifying themselves and did not render aid to the victim, as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead. The victim is a female in her fifties and identification is pending next of kin notifications. On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
