LAPD Response to London Attack NR17265ml

September 15, 2017

Los Angeles: The recent attack in London has once again reminded us of the threat of terrorism against innocent people throughout the world. The hearts of the men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department go out to those injured by today’s senseless act and the many people affected by this tragic incident.

LAPD’s Counterterrorism and Special Operations Bureau has been in contact with UK officials and U.S. law enforcement agencies and has determined there is no evidence of a nexus between the attack in London and Los Angeles. As a precautionary measure, however, the LAPD will increase its presence on MTA rail and bus lines and ensure that major tourist venues see increased security measures.

The most important security measure is the vigilance of our community and making sure you report suspicious activity. If you see something, say something and you can report suspicious activity directly to the LAPD by downloading and using the iWatch app from the Apple or Android stores today.”
