Pacoima: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division arrested Marcario Velarde, a 38-year-old resident of Sun Valley for Hit and Run Felony.
On Saturday, September 16, 2017, around 7 p.m., a fatal hit and run collision occurred at the intersection of Osborne Street and Osborne Place, in the City of Pacoima.
Jonathan Waters, a 24-year-old resident of Sylmar, was riding his motorcycle northbound on Osborne Street when he collided with a black GMC Sonoma pick-up truck who turned left in front of him. The force of the collision caused the motorcycle rider to be ejected from and collide with the truck and subsequently the street.
The GMC Sonoma immediately fled the scene without rendering aid or exchanging information as required by law.
An investigation lead to the identification of the suspect, Macario Velarde who was booked at Van Nuys Jail for Hit and Run Felony. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office for filing consideration. Velarde’s truck is in custody.
