Northridge: On October 06, 2017,
around 10:55 p.m., a silver BMW/340i was traveling eastbound Lassen
Street at a high rate of speed with another dark colored sedan. The
driver of the silver BMW lost control of his vehicle east of Balboa
Boulevard, it traveled in a northeast direction on the westbound
lanes of Lassen Street and collided with a light standard on the
north side of Lassen Street. The BMW continued traveling in a
northeast direction and collided with a tree on the north side of
Lassen Street east of Balboa Boulevard. The collision caused the
BMW to become engulfed in flames.
The other dark colored
sedan possibly black was last seen traveling at a high rate of
speed eastbound Balboa Boulevard without stopping.
A total of four occupants that were inside the silver BMW died
instantly from injuries sustained. Two of the four occupants have
been identified as Amanda Alfar from Panorama City, and Leena
Ammari from Van Nuys. The other two occupants names have not been
released pending next of kin notification.
