Los Angeles: Detectives from
the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Area are seeking the
public’s assistance in identifying a grand theft suspect.
On Sunday, September 10, 2017, between the hours of 1:05 p.m. and
3:25 p.m., (2) two theft from person incidents occurred in a
grocery store located on the 6300 block of West 3rd Street.
The suspect approached the victims from behind while they were
shopping. The victims turned their backs to their shopping carts to
pick items from the shelf. The suspect reached into their purses,
removed their wallets and walked away. The victims targeted were
female shoppers who placed their purses in their shopping cart
while shopping.
The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old male Black with
black hair and brown eyes. He stands 5 foot 11 inches tall and
weighs approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt, gray
pants and black tennis shoes with white soles.
