Sylmar: The Los Angeles Police Department Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of 23-year-old Angel Francisco Torres Jr., a resident of Sylmar.
On January 6, 2018, around 9:45 p.m., Foothill patrol officers responded to a radio call of “Shots Fired”, in the 12200 block of Van Nuys Boulevard in the Sylmar area. When officers arrived, they saw Mr. Torres Jr. lying on the ground in the rear alley.
Detectives investigation revealed, Mr. Torres Jr. was standing in the alley when he was approached by suspect(s) who fired multiple times striking the victim.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the location and pronounced Mr. Torres Jr. dead at scene.
There is no suspect description and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
