Suspect Wanted for Brutal Beating NR18046ml

Koreatown: The Los Angeles
Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the
person responsible for the brutal beating of 86-year-old Mi Reum
Song in Koreatown.

On Saturday, February 10, 2018, around 1:25 p.m., Los Angeles
police officers responded to a radio call of a battery
investigation in the area of Olympic Boulevard and Vermont Avenue.
When officers arrived, they contacted the victim, who was being
treated by Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics for an
apparent head injury.

The initial investigation determined that the victim was walking on
Olympic Boulevard, west of Vermont Avenue, when the suspect
approached her from the front and struck her once in the head
without provocation.

The assault caused the victim to lose consciousness and fall to the
ground. As a result, the victim sustained two black eyes, a minor
laceration to the forehead, and a laceration to the back of the
head.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his mid-30s,
approximately five-feet five-inches tall, and weighing
approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing all black clothing and was
last seen running eastbound on Olympic Boulevard.
