Hollywood: A man turns himself in to police, for a robbery that occurred in front of President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On July 26, 2018 at approximately 9:50 p.m., a street robbery occurred in front of President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The robbery involved a fight between the suspect and the victim where the suspect used bodily force to take the victim’s camera.
The suspect was identified as Julio Gomez, 19 years of age from Los Angeles. Gomez is known to frequent the area surrounding the Hollywood and Highland complex. A crime report for robbery was completed by responding officers. The victim was not seriously injured.
Hollywood officers attempted to arrest Gomez at his residence; however, he was not at the location.
On July 27, 2018, Gomez voluntarily surrendered to officers at Hollywood Station. He was interviewed by Hollywood Area detectives, and booked for the charge of 211 PC “Robbery.”
He is currently being held on $50,000 bail at a Hollywood Jail. Detectives are attempting to recover the stolen camera.
The robbery case will be presented to the District Attorney on Monday.
