Shooting near a Homeless Encampment NR18205ml

Venice: The Los Angeles Police Department, Pacific Area detectives, are investigating a shooting that occurred at Venice Boulevard and Globe Avenue near a Homeless Encampment.

On Thursday July 26, 2018, at approximately 3:05 p.m., an older model Honda Accord traveling westbound on Venice Boulevard turned northbound on Globe Avenue and stopped.

The driver (Suspect-1), exited the Honda Accord and jogged toward the sidewalk where three male individuals were gathered near tents. Suspect-1 retrieved a handgun from his shorts pocket and fired multiple rounds at one of the three individuals. All three males scattered.

The passenger, is seen exiting the Honda Accord, walked towards the tents, and is seen pointing to an individual taking cover behind a tent.

Both Suspects then ran back toward the Honda Accord and drove away northbound Globe Avenue from Venice Boulevard.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.

(Suspect-1) is described as a male, Hispanic, brown hair, standing at approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately140 lbs., wearing a black hat, black t-shirt, and blue shorts.

(Suspect-2) is described a male, Hispanic, standing approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 240 lbs., wearing a red hat, black shirt, and blue jeans. It appears that the suspects knew the Victim and target him.
