WHAT: LAPD To Giveaway Hundreds of Dodger Caps, Beanies, Pillow Cases, and Hampers at Dodger Theme “Just Say No” Rally.
WHEN: Friday, October 26, 2018 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
WHERE: Anatola Elementary 7364 Anatola Ave Van Nuys, CA 91406
WHO: Los Angeles Police Department Officers 450 students, teachers, and staff
WHY: Anatola Elementary’s teaching staff had all of their 450 students write pledges about the importance of saying no to drugs, gangs, crime, and bullying. In response LAPD is responding with their one of a kind Just Say No School Rally. They’ll be anti-drug, gangs, crime, and bullying demonstrations and discussions, hundreds of Dodger merchandise prize drawings, hula hoop, dance, and rap contests, music, and LAPD Officers as DJ and doing rap performance. LAPD requires all students to write and submit a pledge before a rally is scheduled. There are 9 more Just Say No Rallies at LA elementary schools across the city through January. Over 6,000 elementary students will be positively impacted with these rallies.
Event Agenda: 12:00-Event set-up.
13:00- Introductions and discussion w/ students about the importance of say no to drugs, gangs, crime, and bullying.
13:15-All student take “Just Say No” pledge.
13:20-Dodger Prize Drawings, Contests (hola hoop contests for bikes, dance move contest, rap contest for great prizes!) Tour of Police Vehicles and Equipment.
14:00-LAPD Helicopter Fly over
14:10-LAPD Officers Michael Scott and Officer Aaron Thompson perform their “Just Say No” rap song.
14:30-Event ends.
“Just Say No” Pledge: “I pledge to say no to drugs.” “I pledge to say no to joining a gang.” “I pledge to say no to crime.” “I pledge to say no to bullying.” “I will respect & honor my parents.” “I will respect & learn from my teachers.” “I will respect & be courteous to others.” “I will respect & believe in myself.”
