WHAT: Los Angeles Police Department Recruit Officer Graduation Ceremony for Class 8-18

WHO: LAPD Chief Michel Moore Representatives from the LAPD Board of Commissioners Representatives from the Mayor’s Office LAPD Command Staff and Special Guests
DETAILS: The Los Angeles Police Academy will graduate 48 officers. Of the 48 LAPD officers, there are 36 males and 12 females with the following ethnic breakdown: 11 Caucasians, 28 Hispanics, 6 African-American, 2 Asian, and 1 Filipino. In addition to LAPD, 2 Los Angeles World Airport Police Officers and 1 Port Police Officer will also be graduating.
The graduating officers will have completed 912 hours of training over the course of 24 weeks.
The Department would also like to highlight the graduation of Recruit Officer Manuel Salguero. Manuel has a brother who is currently an LAPD Officer at Hollywood Division. Manuel’s father, Detective Victor Salguero, is an LAPD Detective and a Lieutenant with the US Navy Reserves. Victor is currently serving abroad with the Navy as part of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel but was able to surprise his family and take military leave to attend his son’s graduation.
