WHAT: Los Angeles Police Concert Band gets invitation to play at National Police Week in Washington DC.

WHEN: Monday, May 13th at 2:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. the Police Memorial Tuesday, May 14th at RFK Stadium from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15th, Memorial Service at the Capitol.

WHERE: Washington D.C.

WHY: The National Fraternal Order of Police and Auxiliary planners of the 2019 National Police Week in Washington DC have invited the Los Angeles Police Concert Band to play at National Police Week. Monday, May 13, the band will play at the Police Memorial, honoring fallen officers, at 2:00pm, and on Tuesday, May 14, at RFK Stadium at 4:00pm, in celebration of the brave officers who continue to protect and serve our cities and communities throughout the country.

The Los Angeles Police Concert Band consists of volunteers who contribute their time and talent in support of the LAPD, providing music for Departmental and City events. Under the direction of Maestro Richard Allen, the band serves as an ambassador for the City of Los Angeles and throughout the United States and abroad. The band has performed its inspirational music for presidents, kings, queens, and for inaugurations of police chiefs and mayors. The band has become a premiere part of Los Angeles’ history and continues to provide music for school programs, community events, and official city functions.
