Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision NR19165ne

North Hills: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division detectives are investigating a fatal hit and run traffic collision that occurred at Haskell Avenue and Parthenia Street.

On Sunday, June 16, 2019, around 5:35 a.m., a fatal hit and run traffic collision occurred on Haskell Avenue and Parthenia Street. A white Lexus IS200 was traveling northbound on Haskell Avenue when it broadsided the left side of a blue Nissan Murano traveling westbound on Parthenia Street. The driver of the Lexus exited the vehicle and fled the scene failing to render aid and identify self as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of the Nissan dead. He appeared to be a Male Hispanic, 45 to 50 years old. His name will not be released until next-of-kin has been notified.

There were four passengers of the Lexus and all were transported to local hospitals where they remain in critical condition

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
