Suspect Wanted for Hit and Run against a Police Officer NR19233ti

Los Angeles: The Los
Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division detectives are
investigating a hit and run traffic collision that occurred near
San Pedro and 61st Street.

On August 26, 2019, around 10:20 p.m., an on-duty Los Angeles
Police Department officer was struck by a vehicle on San Pedro
Street just south of 61st Street. The driver fled the scene
northbound on San Pedro Street failing to identify himself or
render aid. At the time of the collision, the officer was
conducting an investigative vehicle stop.

The hit and run vehicle is described as a late 1990s to early 2000s
Toyota Sienna minivan or Dodge minivan with two toned gray paint
(dark gray over light gray) with a black painted hood. The driver
is described as a male Hispanic with short black or gray hair,
between the age of 28 to 50-years-old.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision,
they should stop, notify emergency services, and remain at the
scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles
Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust
Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members
who provide information leading to the offender’s identification,
apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil
compromise.
