Severe Hit and Run Traffic Collision NR20027ml

Highland Park: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division are investigating a hit and run traffic collision that resulted in a pedestrian severely injured.

On January 25, 2020, at approximately 1:05 a.m., a pedestrian was crossing Avenue 51, just south of Eaton Street, when a gray Ford Mustang collided into the pedestrian.

The driver of the Ford Mustang fled the scene after the collision and failed to render aid or identify him or herself as required by law.

The pedestrian sustained severe injuries. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported him to a local hospital.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
