Hit and Run Leaves a Man with Severe Injuries NR20062ne

Koreatown: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are investigating a hit and run pedestrian traffic collision.

On March 8, 2020, around 3:30 a.m., a vehicle exiting westbound from a private parking lot on Ardmore Avenue, north of 6th Street, collided with a man in his thirties walking northbound on the east sidewalk of Ardmore Avenue. The force of the impact caused the man to be thrown onto the street.

The hit and run vehicle is described as a 4-door white sedan. After the collision, the driver fled the scene failing to render aid and identify him or herself as required by law. The suspect vehicle was last seen westbound on 6th Street from Ardmore Avenue.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Drivers are reminded to drive at a safe speed and if you become involved in a collision, you should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify yourself. Witnesses are reminded that documenting license plate numbers of vehicles involved is considered crucial evidence in traffic collision investigations.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
