Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department’s Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting involving a dog in Southeast Division.
On March 8, 2020, around 12:11 p.m., Southeast Area officers responded to a radio call of “Vicious Animals” in the 10000 block of Wilmington Avenue. While at scene, one officer was attacked and bitten by a vicious dog, resulting in an OIS. The dog was not struck by gunfire and fled the scene. Police Officer II Wenceslao Chamu, Serial No. 43036, Southeast Area, was transported to a local hospital, where she received medical treatment and was released.
LAPD’s specialized Force Investigation Division responded to the scene and is handling the investigation.
