Severe Injury Hit and Run Traffic Collision NR20096rc

Winnetka: The Los Angeles Police
Department’s Valley Traffic Division detectives are asking for the
public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the
identification and arrest of the driver involved in a hit and run
traffic collision that left a 36-year-old male with severe
injuries.

On May 1, 2020, around 10:45 p.m., officers responded to a severe
injury hit and run that occurred at Winnetka Avenue and Roscoe
Boulevard. A motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Winnetka Ave
passing Roscoe Blvd, when it collided with a gray jeep Cherokee,
which was making a left turn from northbound Winnetka Ave into
westbound Roscoe Blvd. After the collision, the driver of the Jeep
Cherokee stopped the vehicle momentarily.
The driver then fled the scene failing to render aid and exchange
information as required by law. The motorcyclist was injured as the
result of this collision.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported
the victim to a local hospital in stable condition.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles
Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust
Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members
who provide information leading to the offender’s identification,
apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil
compromise.
