Foothill: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the murder of 26-year-old Daniel Alaya, a resident of Pacoima.
On December 27, 2020, around 7:11 p.m., Foothill area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a, “Fire Department requesting Police Department on a dead body, ” at Pendelton Street and Norris Avenue.
When officers arrived, they saw a silver, Infiniti M35 parked on Pendelton Street. The vehicle was locked and inside in the rear passenger seat was Alaya suffering from multiple gun-shot wounds. He appeared to be deceased.
The Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded, breached the rear passenger window and pronounced Alaya dead at scene.
Detectives investigation revealed a witness was walking in the area when she smelled an odor emanating from the vehicle. She looked inside and discovered Alaya. She called the Fire Department. The vehicle was impounded and will be forensically analyzed for prints and DNA. Detectives canvassed the area for additional witnesses and surveillance cameras.
