LAPD and the FBI Capture Suspect Wanted for Murder NR20314ll

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department’s South Bureau homicide detectives and agents from the FBI announce the arrest of a murder suspect.

On March 16, 2017, at around 7:22 p.m., LAPD Southeast patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 11000 block of Towne Avenue. Upon their arrival they located Victim Emma Rodriguez-Estrada, a female Hispanic, 23 years old, suffering from a gunshot wound. Ms. Rodriguez-Estrada was transported to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s filed murder charges on Andres Zambrano, male Hispanic, 26 years old. A warrant was issued for his arrest, however Mr. Zambrano remained outstanding.

The assistance of the Los Angeles Police Department-FBI Fugitive Task Force was requested to locate and arrest Mr. Zambrano. He was listed as one of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Ten Most Wanted Fugitives.

On December 11, 2020, in a joint effort with the FBI, Mexican authorities located and arrested Zambrano in Colima, Mexico. He was extradited back to Los Angeles, California where he was booked for the outstanding murder warrant.

The success of this investigation is not only attributed to the efforts of South Bureau Homicide investigators, but more so to the unyielding commitment of personnel from Gang and Narcotics Division, LAPD-FBI Fugitive Task Force.
