WHY:
On March 19, 2021, a 74-year-old pedestrian identified as Mr. John Donald Draper was crossing westbound Crenshaw Boulevard at the intersection with Hyde Park Boulevard. A gray Ford F-150 pick-up truck that was travelling northbound on Crenshaw Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it struck Mr. John Donald Draper launching him into the air. The driver of the pick-up truck continued northbound on Crenshaw Boulevard at a high rate of speed, failing to stop, identify themselves, or render aid to the victim as required by law. Mr. John Donald Draper was treated by paramedics of the Los Angeles Fire Department but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Video and Images of the suspect’s truck will be released, and a $50,000 reward will be announced for any information leading to the identity, arrest, and conviction of the person responsible for striking and killing Mr. John Donald Draper.
