South LA: On March 15, 2021, at around 5:00 p.m., Southeast Patrol Officers responded to a Domestic Violence radio call. While the officers were speaking with the Person Reporting (PR) and possible suspect, a Rottweiler owned by the possible suspect, came through an open gate and charged an officer. The officer fired one round striking the dog in the mouth. The dog was transported by the family members of the PR to a local veterinary center and is expected to survive.
No officers were injured during the incident and no arrest were made.
Force Investigation Division (FID) detectives responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
