Why:
On June 13th, 2021, around 8:50 PM, a gray Nissan Sentra was traveling northbound Hazeltine Avenue south of Gault Street when it hit a male pedestrian crossing mid-block Hazeltine Avenue. The victim sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision, the driver of the Nissan left the scene without rendering aid or identifying self.

Valley Traffic Division Detectives conducted several interviews and follow-ups that led to the identification of the hit and run vehicle, and the suspect was subsequently identified. During the investigation, detectives located the hit and run vehicle parked inside an apartment complex parking lot area, the vehicle had heavy fresh collision damage and was visible to the public. It is our intention to provide awareness to community members that if they see something, say something when they notice vehicles that appear to have collision damage that wasn’t there before, to utilize CrimeStoppers to report incidents that appear suspicious in nature as this can potentially provide leads to a crime. Tips can be provided anonymously as well, rewards are available for tips that lead to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Felony Hit and Runs crimes.
