Why:
This Saturday, the LAPD Centurions baseball team, in conjunction with Living Hope Community Church and Genesis Entertainment, will host their annual LAPD Christmas Toy Giveaway and Concert. City leaders will attend throughout the day.

This year’s theme: If you have, come and give; if you need, come and receive.

The purpose of the event is to share holiday wishes and kindness with underprivileged children and families in Los Angeles.

A tree lighting ceremony at noon, including appearances by celebrities, VIP guests, and event sponsors, will take place prior to the distribution of thousands of toys to children in need. As part of the festivities, Grammy Award winning artist Jamie Jones will perform.

The event will feature an extensive children’s fun zone, offering 2 rock climbing walls, face painting, public safety displays, an interactive game area, food, popcorn, and snow cone and cotton candy booths. Each child who attends will receive the gift of a brand new toy.

An additional event will take place in the San Fernando Valley on Sunday, December 18, 2005, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m, at Mission Police Station, 11121 North Sepulveda Boulevard, Mission Hills, CA 91345. Special guest: Ronald McDonald.
