Los Angeles: On Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at approximately 5:15 a.m. North Hollywood Area patrol officers were directed to respond with Los Angeles Fire Department personnel to the 9900 block of Keswick Street, where someone who appeared to be burned, was lying in a driveway.
Upon arrival the officers and firefighters discovered a female at the scene with extensive burns from head to toe. She was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries. The identity of the female has not been established. The fire occurred in the street adjacent to an embankment of the southbound Golden State Freeway.
Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division and investigators from the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Arson Detail conducted a crime scene investigation. The source of the fire is undetermined and the case is being handled as a murder pending results of an autopsy.
