Los Angeles: A midday shooting on Saturday claimed the life of an Hispanic teenager, who was standing in the street near 280 South Witmer Street, just west of downtown.
On Saturday, February 26, 2005, at about 2:30 PM, a man, described only as Hispanic confronted the teenager and shot him twice in the upper body. The victim’s age was estimated at 15 to 18 years. His identity was not immediately available.
The suspect was seen getting into a 1990 to 1995 blue or gray Honda Accord, which was last seen driving south on Columbia Avenue from Third Street.
Officers from the Rampart Police Station found the young man lying on the sidewalk after they answered a radio call about the shooting. The victim later died at a local hospital.
