Los Angeles: On Friday, March 11, 2005, at 7:00 a.m., community organizations, elected and governmental leaders, Southwest area Police-Clergy Council members, and members of the community will host a special kick-off Rally "Walk for Life and Peace" at the intersection of La Brea Avenue and Adams Boulevard.
There have been several areas within the community that have been plagued with criminal activity, which continues to result in the untimely death or serious injury of many young people and other law-abiding members of our community.
The Southwest Area Police-Clergy Council has worked in partnership with the Los Angeles Police Department in our community for over thirty years. As we continue to move forward, the Clergy council has been instrumental in suggesting various strategies to improve the quality of life for those that worship, work or reside in the Southwest community.
