Los Angeles: On Wednesday morning, an 84-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her home in Reseda, while her family slept.
Los Angeles police officers arrived at the home of Maria Refujio Mojarro in the 19200 block of Lanark Street. The officers were directed to a bedroom where Ms. Mojarro was found with multiple stab wounds.
Los Angeles police detectives believe that Ms. Mojarro’s grandson, Frank Perez, committed the murder. Mr. Perez had been living in the residence with the victim until last month, when his sister obtained a restraining order against him. After fleeing from the home, Perez went to the City of Ventura , where he was arrested by Ventura authorities for being under the influence of drugs. West Valley Homicide Detectives were notified and Perez was released to the custody of Los Angeles police where he was arrested for murder and booked at Van Nuys Jail.
The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for formal filing.
