Los Angeles: 27 year-old man was arrested for suspicion of Vehicular Manslaughter after being involved in a traffic collision.
On Friday, June 24, 2005, a fatal traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Western Heritage Way and North Zoo Drive. Armen Andreasyan, a resident of Los Angeles, was driving a 1992 Ford Van eastbound on Western Heritage Way when he failed to stop for a posted stop sign while traveling at an excessive rate of speed as described by witnesses. He then collided with a 1996 Toyota Corolla driven by a 73 year-old woman. The collision caused the Toyota to run off the road and into the Los Angeles Zoo parking lot, where it collided with three parked vehicles.
The 73 year-old driver of the Toyota was transported to a local hospital where she died a short time later. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification to her family.
Unlicensed driver, Armen Andreasyan, was booked for Vehicular Manslaughter.
