Los Angeles: On Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at about 11:50 a.m., the victim, Isaac Osuman Umar, 35 years of age, was working inside his place of business, a thrifty clothing store, located at 7611 South Vermont Avenue. A lone gunman walked in and demanded money from the victim. During the course of the robbery the gunman fired numerous rounds striking the victim multiple times in his upper body.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics came and took the victim to Martin Luther King Jr. Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. The gunman was last seen running northbound on Vermont Avenue where he stopped and got into a get-away car, driven by an unknown occupant. The car is described as a white car (possibly GM model).
The motive was a robbery. The suspect and weapon remain outstanding.
